1. What does Joseph Stalin's advice to the people of Stalingrad say about him as a leader?

- "Stand firm. Die but do not retreat." I think that this says that he was a leader that wanted to win and woiuld do whatever it took to win. I think that this means that he is quite selfish.

2. Explain why Hitler would react in the way shown after signing a Non-Aggression Pact with Stalin?

- He said that he got them. I think that his reaction was like this because he was still going to be agressive. And about three years after then the war started.

3. Explain the significance of propaganda in this battle, using examples from the posters.

- The posters show alot of killing and how much that Hitler was hated. This shows because that is how the people felt.

4. What do the extremes of the war reveal about what it takes to win a total war?

- It takes alot of dedication and hard work. Sometimes you have to not see your family for a long time. You also have to work through the holidays.

5. How does the story of Vasily Zaitsev relate to the war in Iraq?

- I don't think that it really relates to the Iraq war other than that there is fighting going on.

6. In times of crisis, sometimes heroic figures emerge. Which figure emerged in a similar way to Vasily after the terrorist attacks of 9/11?

- The firefighters, police, Medical assistans, ect. The Army, Navy, The Marines, ect.
